Installing accessories on your bicycle can often be one of the first mechanically inclined things that people do with their bicycle. Somehow installing a light or a water bottle holder or a rack or a basket isn't seen as much of a challenge when compared to changing a tire or adjusting the brakes.
There are many accessories available for bicycles, and some of the most popular ones include:
Bike Lights: Bike lights are essential for safe cycling at night. They improve visibility and help you stay visible to drivers and other cyclists.
Bike Locks: A bike lock is a must-have accessory to secure your bike while it's parked. It is important to invest in a high-quality bike lock to deter theft.
Cycling Gloves: Cycling gloves protect your hands from blisters, calluses, and injury. They also provide a better grip on the handlebars and absorb shock from the road.
Bike Helmet: A bike helmet is an important safety accessory for cyclists. It protects your head from injury in case of an accident.
Water Bottle and Cage: Staying hydrated during a ride is essential, so a water bottle and cage are popular accessories for cyclists.
Bike Pump: A bike pump is a necessary accessory for maintaining tire pressure. Proper tire pressure helps prevent flats and ensures a smooth ride.
Bike Rack: A bike rack is useful for transporting your bike to different locations. It can be mounted on the roof, trunk, or hitch of a car.
Bike Computer: A bike computer is a useful accessory for tracking your ride's distance, speed, and other metrics. It can also provide navigation and route guidance.
Cycling Shoes: Cycling shoes are designed to clip onto the pedals, providing a more efficient pedal stroke and better control over the bike.
Bike Trailer: A bike trailer is useful for carrying cargo, children, or pets. It attaches to the back of your bike and provides additional storage space.
And of course these days there's also the need to put your cellphone somewhere. If you are one of those people (like myself) who carries their cellphone in their front pants pocket, then you may be familiar that the process of cycling can sometimes slowly push a cellphone out of your pocket and the next thing you know you've dropped your cellphone and may not even know where it was dropped.
