I would love to hear if there are any. I have been to the Park Tool Program at Winterborne and I wasnt prepared for it since I just started more and more interested in Biking Mechanics. I am willing to work for a bike shop part time for the experience if that is a way to gain experience. thanks.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11188576083650787632noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4021974943984835368.post-39091269876445756072016-01-11T03:11:49.476-08:002016-01-11T03:11:49.476-08:00For these cutter_9021325352 contactFor these cutter_9021325352 contactAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00614497517861329505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4021974943984835368.post-26447685556133204632015-07-08T16:10:05.466-07:002015-07-08T16:10:05.466-07:00Great site thanks. I have a good road bike, ie not mountain bike, and it needs fixing up, I can only do so much but it woudl sell if I knew how...just yesterday found a rusty but good bike by the bins, needs a bit of work. It was clearly being thrown out as they had keft it out in the garden to rust, even put the lock with key overcthe handlebars, so another project to do to sell or give away. I see lots of abandoned bikes in Edinburgh, my theory is its too far gone for them to fix and they claim on insurance for a new one. All the better for us! Hetty. Ps will take advice on using oil for most things, spent a couple hrs trying to undo back wheel bolt due to a puncture, no luck yet. hettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14336425954068503728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4021974943984835368.post-37481560916547440882014-03-26T00:59:37.014-07:002014-03-26T00:59:37.014-07:00i am working on this project so everybady help mei am working on this project so everybady help meAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09504020038141618228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4021974943984835368.post-12545046329188820912014-01-28T09:05:31.622-08:002014-01-28T09:05:31.622-08:00hi I have a little shop where we build staff like ...hi I have a little shop where we build staff like that tándem cycles, sidecars, even a system to carry little children bykes safetly but I had never shipp one of those things out of the country you can contact me at acorderom81@gmail.com maybe I can help youAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14151060753013876552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4021974943984835368.post-67382440024239878072013-06-06T11:37:44.765-07:002013-06-06T11:37:44.765-07:00I need one of these for my special needs son. I spent the better part of 3 evenings reading articles on the internet and doing and undoing the nipples in an attempt to build the perfect wheel.

I have to disagree with Danna on one small point. Before I purchased the tension meter I used the "flick and listen method". But when I squeezed the spokes they seemd soft. I went ahead and purchased the same tool pictured in the article and found that most of them were less than 70kgf. Velocity suggests 110-115. And since I am building a 5 speed steel framed touring bike, this would have been totally unaceptable for the weights and road conditions I may encounter.

So as I respect that fact that you have been doing this much longer than I have been riding bikes, I do believe that if it wasnt important, the manufacturer wouldnt suggest it. In fact had I bought the wheels already built by them.....(I added a sturmey archer 5 speed internal hub so this wasn't an option), then they would have been built to those tolerances.Citizen Mooniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17382829444746444017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4021974943984835368.post-9486166183869266262013-01-22T03:02:58.429-08:002013-01-22T03:02:58.429-08:00These are great pictures. Being his own boss, helping people, working partially outside in the summer, problem solving and being challenged. He's a mechanical engineer and is crazy about the history, the practicality and the beauty of these machines. If only we could see a way of maintaining business throughout the winter we would have it all figured out.vivalaletahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00571473849115759096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4021974943984835368.post-59543505210169568522012-12-18T18:40:57.921-08:002012-12-18T18:40:57.921-08:00How about the thread on a bolt that secures the si...How about the thread on a bolt that secures the sissy bar of a banana seat to the rear of a bicycle frame of a 1970's american made muscle bike. 1970 Western Flyer Buzz Bike to be exact. My recommendation would be to take it to a local bicycle mechanic who is experienced (no rookies on this job) and ask them to fix the derailleur.

If they can fix it right in front of you that would be great because then you could watch and see what they do, but most bike shops have a backlog of bikes to fix and you might have to wait a couple days to get your bicycle back.CMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10466716759836529168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4021974943984835368.post-23379752530493384762012-07-10T18:48:45.961-07:002012-07-10T18:48:45.961-07:00I have an Apollo Altitude 21 speed bike, recently ...I have an Apollo Altitude 21 speed bike, recently I went riding on some trails and a stick got stuck in the derailer. There is 2 different possibilities that I can think of for why that might be happening.

The most likely cause is the spring isn't popping the calipers back out into place and you need to tighten the screw which adjusts the spring. You may need to adjust both screws on each side so it evens out and the calipers bounce back nicely when the brakes aren't being used.CMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10466716759836529168noreply@blogger.com
